Mardi Gras At St. Mary’s Academy

March 7, 2014 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson

Repair work on the ceiling of Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls is still underway. The Church hall has become the temporary place of worship. However, the show must go on… so the Parish’s annual Mardi Gras celebration was moved to St. Mary’s Academy.

The event included a delicious covered dish dinner, music by the Sage City Six and snippets of entertainment by Parish members. Dave Sutton sang with the Sage City Six and with Fr. Tom Zelker and Ric DiDonato. Ric sang a medley of tunes from the Frank Sinatra era, and Joanie James entertained everyone with a litany of jokes that had everyone laughing.

The evening was a fun time for everyone to get together before the Lenten season begins.
