Members of the Hoosick Falls Fire Department donned their new turnout gear Monday evening. The Department received a $48,500 Assistance to Firefighters Grant to purchase 20 sets. This replaces their former gear that was more than 10 years old. This top of the line gear is good for at least 10 years. The grant had a 5% matching component, and the Department's payment toward the gear was $2,500. The public can see this new gear and all the Department's equipment during its Open House and Recruitment Day on Saturday, April 26, from 9 am to 2 pm. (Bea Peterson photo)
