by Kieron Kramer

At around 2 am on Thursday, April 10, a truck carrying a lime product failed to negotiate a turn on the Taconic Trail (NY Route 2) and rolled over. [private]The Petersburgh Fire Department and Ambulance responded, as did the State Police. Dawson’s towing sent two wreckers to tow the vehicle and clean up the product that spilled. The Trail was closed to traffic for several hours. There is no report on the condition of the driver.

This picture, taken the Friday after the rollover, shows the side of the Taconic Trail (NY 2 ) which was laid bare. The the small trees were broken and splintered in the accident. The lime is still visible on the road. (Kieron Kramer photo)
