The very first concert Hubbard Hall presented, in the fall of 1977, was renowned Scottish artist Jean Redpath. On May 31 she again will take the stage!

Redpath’s vast repertoire of both traditional and contemporary material, and her delight in illustrating the quirks of the Scottish character in song and story, assures an entertaining, enlightening and moving experience. As Garrison Keillor said of Jean, “A person doesn’t make a life singing Scottish traditional music on the basis of charm. She has a fierce devotion to the music, as a Scot and as an artist. Everything she most deeply feels and believes in…comes out in these songs. The songs aren’t pictures. They’re rocks. They are the mountain itself.”
Redpath takes the stage on Saturday, May 31, at 8 pm. Admission costs only $22, or $20 for members and $15 for students. You may purchase tickets in advance at www.hubardhall.org or by calling 518-677-2495 weekday afternoons. the remaining tickets will be available at the door which opens at 7:30 pm.
