Things are bustling at the Hathaway’s Drive-In on Route 67 in North Hoosick as Duane Greenawalt prepares for the drive-in’s opening on Friday, May 16. The new $70,000 digital projector is in place and operating, the projection booth has been completely updated for another $20,000, new underground cabling has been installed, work is underway for improving the rest rooms and a new sign has been ordered and is on its way.

Brewery and a generous agreement with Lynn Caponera of In The Night Kitchen at Scotch Hill Farm in Cambridge made this year’s opening possible. Lynn grows and donates food to local food banks and pantries. Through the agreement, Hathaway’s will help increase public awareness of the need for hunger relief for children and families in our communities by running on-screen public service announcements. Drive-in patrons are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items with them and drop them off so they can be distributed to local food pantries.
66th Year
This weekend begins the 66th year of continuous operation for Hathaway’s, which, Greenawalt said, is the oldest drive-in in New York State.
The double features running this Friday and Saturday nights are Godzilla and Spider Man 2. Start time is 8:30 pm.
