Schuylerville 6 HF 1
After traveling up to Schuylerville Friday, the Panthers fell to the league leading Black Horses. Schuylerville’s pitcher, Jake Petralia, had a no-hitter into the seventh and final inning, but with two outs Panther Tom Peabody hit a single to break it up. Wyatt Whitman took the loss.
HF 17 Mekeel Christian 3
The Panthers went out to Fort Plain to participate in the Fort Plain Tournament Saturday. After getting a win in their first game, the rest of the day didn’t go as planned when rain washed out the remainder of the tourney. In the game against Mekeel Christian, Garrett Wright and Tom Peabody had a big day offensively. Wright had three singles and 4 RBIs. Tom Peabody had two singles, scored twice and had three stolen bases. The Panthers put three runs on the board in the first inning then added runs in every following inning until the game was called in the fifth by the mercy rule. Brandon Hodges got the win on the mound.
HF 5 Tamarac 2
On Monday, playing in a game moved to Brunswick because of poor field conditions at HFCS, the Panthers found themselves in a hole early in the game but were able to put enough offense and defense together to pull a win out of their hats. With Keelen Hitt on the mound, the Panthers held the Bengals to one run in each of the first two innings. In the fourth inning, Wyatt Whitman hit a two run single to put the Panthers ahead to stay. Hitt struck out six while pitching a complete game. Peter Muratorri led the offense with two singles along with one RBI, and he put on a one man highlight reel of left field catches.
Greenwich 4 HF 2
On the HFCS field Tuesday, the Greenwich Witches got out to a four run lead on three unearned runs then held on as the Panthers scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Wyatt Whitman started and took the loss. Tyler Rondeau finished on the mound for the Panthers.
The Panther record now stands at 6 – 6 overall, 4 – 5 in league play.
The team heads up to Cambridge on Thursday, May 8, for a 4:15 start. Saturday, May 10, will find the team playing at Tamarac High with an 11 am start. On Monday, May 12, the Panthers will visit Stillwater with the game to start at 4:15. On Wednesday, May 14, the team will face Hoosic Valley at HFCS. Game time is 4:15.
