The Petersburgh Fire Department held its annual Installation Dinner on April 26. It was at the Hoosick Falls Country Club, the dinner by chef Jeff Babson and his crew.
[private]Bill Seel will continue as Fire Chief, and he presided over the ceremonies along with outgoing Assistant Chief Nathan Michaels. Michaels will be stepping down as Assistant Chief, and Mike Lindsey will be Assistant Chief this year. Earl Brock and James Morgan will continue as Captains # 1 and # 2, and Mike Harrison was elected Captain #3 after Mike Lindsey moved up to Assistant Chief.
Bill Seel’s remarks about the past year highlighted the storm and flooding last spring, when the Fire Department got seven storm related calls in a short period of time, and a chimney fire this past winter that the Department was able to contain. He noted that use of a thermal imaging camera that the Department was able to purchase this year with help from Taconic allowed them to pinpoint where the fire was. As a result they could tear into the building right where the fire was, causing less damage to the building.
Chief Seel announced the firefighters who attended the most drills during the past year. Terry Neaton was first, Cheyenne Seel was second and Mike Harrison third.
Terry Neaton responded to the most calls with Charlie Carr second and John Telford third.

Years of Service pins were presented to Pat Adrion and Paul Smith for five years of service, and to Richard Snyder for 35 years of service. Siegfried Krahforst has reached the 45 year milestone, but he was not present.

And They Danced The Night Away…
