The Patriot Flight Is This Saturday

May 9, 2014 By eastwickpress

submitted by Tyler Sawyer

The Patriot Flight, Inc. is a local organization that flies local WW II and Korean War Veterans free of charge to visit the respective war memorials in Washington, D.C. The cost for the Guardians who accompany the Veterans is covered by the Guardians themselves.  The cost is $350 per Guardian. The flight departs the Albany Airport this coming Saturday, May 10.  There will be over 50 Veterans on the flight.

[private]Donations were made to cover the cost of the flight for the Medial Guardians that are required for the flight. The only two Medical Guardians that will be flying with the Veteran’s are Grafton’s own Donna Baldwin and her son Tyler Baldwin. The Grafton VFW Post 6340 gave $200, and County Legislators Stan Brownell and Lester Goodermote donated $500 of their discretionary allotment from the Legislature to cover the rest of the expense.

To learn more on how to register Veterans for the flight, to volunteer as a Guardian or make a donation, visit www.patriotflight.com.
