Town Of Hoosick Planning Board Action – Quorum Call

May 30, 2014 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson

At 7:30 on Monday, May 19, it was as quiet as a church in the room where the Town of Hoosick Planning Board was to meet. Several people were waiting to address the Board, but there was not a quorum. Daryl Cipperly, John Cooney and Chairman Jim Dunigan were present, as was attorney Denis King, Building Inspector Ed King and Secretary Karen Jennings. Finally, at 7:45, Bill Hanselman hobbled in on crutches. It took him a little longer to get there as he had injured his knee in the Lions Club Road Race on Saturday. Business began.

[private]Boll Property

Brian Boll appeared with written descriptions and adjustments to his property on Johnson Hill Road, along with copies of his application. He will keep the lot with the house and cemetery on it. Six lots will become a family subdivision. The Board approved the plan.

Brimmer Farm

Jim Dunigan, owner of the property, recused himself when Bill Johnston approached the Board regarding Dunigan’s Farm. Since, with Dunigan removed, there was no quorum, Johnston simply filed the paperwork and left.

Meerwerth

Paula Meerwerth addressed the Board regarding dividing the Meerwerth property on Hoosick Junction Road into two pieces. This was a preliminary hearing, and she will return next month.

Green Concession

Dan Green appeared before the Board with a request to put a mobile concession stand on his property on Route 67. The concession will sell ice cream, soda, hot dogs and hamburgers. It will be open week days from 4 to 9 pm, Fridays from 11 am to 9 pm and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9 pm. It is considered a small retail commercial business. The Board went through the lengthy environmental and site plan review and found that the concession will have no significant environmental impact.

Attorney King pointed out that since it is on Route 67, the request would have to be reviewed by the County. The Board approved the request, pending County approval.

Cook Property

Chad Cook appeared before the Board to request a boundary line change to property on Cobble Hill Road. The Board approved the change.

Yonconish Property

Stanley Yonconish addressed the Board regarding a boundary line change on his property on Bachwood Road. After some discussion about purchasing an additional acre so that some property can be given to his son, the Board agreed he should have the property surveyed and apply for a boundary line adjustment.

Lajeunesse Property

The Board approved a request by David Lajeunesse for a boundary line adjustment to his property on Route 22.[/private]
