Bill Gaillard, President, Training Officer and 47 year member of the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad was recently recognized by the Board of Directors of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) for achieving 30 years as a National Registered EMT. This distinction is an honor held by few EMTs
[private]To maintain his status as a Nationally Registered EMT, Gaillard completes, on a biennial basis, the most comprehensive recertification program for Emergency Medical Technicians in America. He not only completed courses to refresh his fundamental knowledge and skills but also attended a minimum of two hours per month of additional continuing education courses to advance his knowledge on new life saving skills.
By maintaining his Nationally Registered status and completing regular continuing education courses Gaillard is among a few elite EMTs with the most training in pre-hospital emergency medical care in the nation.
Gaillard was registered as an EMT in 1982 and has been serving the community in that capacity ever since. He was certified as a New York State EMT in 1968.
The National Registry of EMTs serves as the national EMS certification organization by providing a valid, uniform process to assess the knowledge and skills required for competent practice by EMS professionals throughout their careers and by maintaining a registry of certification status.
