Recipients Of the Paul Timmerman Memorial Scholarship Award

July 25, 2014 By eastwickpress

submitted by Bill Gaillard

Two graduating seniors who have been Junior members of the Town Of Hoosick Rescue Squad received the Paul Timmerman Memorial Scholarship award.

Paul was an active member of the squad when he was killed in an auto accident. The company he worked for provided funds matched by the squad to give out the scholarship award each year to a graduating senior.

The Junior Squad are students ages sixteen and seventeen who serve as apprentices and are assigned to a team to learn the profession of Emergency Medical pre-hospital care.

The recipients this year are HollyAnn Devereese, the daughter of Russ and Sheri Gaillard, and Brandon Hodges, the son of Christine Hodges. Brandon is going to HVCC and Hollyann has enlisted in the Army National Guard.

Junior members currently assigned to teams include Bernard Davock, Jayde Tutunjian and Makala Sonnett.

In addition to the Junior group the Squad has a youth group for students ages twelve through fifteen. Any young person interested should contact Deb Lohnes at 686-0810.
