Brown’s To Open Walloomsac Brewery To Public

August 15, 2014 By eastwickpress

On Wednesday, August 27, from 6 to 9 pm Brown’s Brewing Company, 50 Factory Hill Road, Hoosick, will host “Wild BBQ”, a special evening featuring a meet and greet with the stars of the hit National Geographic show Building Wild. “Wild BBQ” will also feature a chicken barbecue, live music from local Northern American Rockers “Eastbound Jesus” and a live auction called by Ron and Kyle Seifert who appeared on an episode of the History Channel’s “American Pickers” this year. The event will be hosted in Brown’s Walloomsac production brewery’s retail space in Hoosick.

[private]The stars of Building Wild, a crew called the Cabin Kings, headed by Hoosick resident Pat “Tuffy” Bakaitis and Extreme Makeover: Home Edition star Paul “Paulie” DeMeo will be on hand with Hoosick native and show Executive Producer George Verschoor to celebrate the conclusion of Building Wild’s second season filming.

The event is a fundraiser for the Greenwich, NY, based Agricultural Stewardship Association (ASA), a nonprofit land trust helping landowners conserve farmland in Washington and Rensselaer counties. Admission to the event costs $10 per person and proceeds go to the ASA. Chicken barbecue with Moses Farm corn and Brown’s beer are available at an additional charge. Tickets are available at Brown’s Taproom bar in Troy, www.brownsbrewing.com/store, agstewardship.org, Thorpe’s Pharmacy and Bagels & Brew in Hoosick Falls.

“Wild BBQ” will commemorate the first major event at Brown’s Walloomsac Taproom located at its new 20,000 barrel capacity production brewery in Hoosick. The Taproom is scheduled to open full time to the public at the end of September and will sell pints of beer, growlers and bottled beer to go in addition to a small selection of local cheeses and breads. Brewery tours will be available as well.
