Driver Uninjured In Rt. 67 Crash

August 1, 2014 By eastwickpress

Returning from his job in Argyle, NY, a 68 year old Bennington, VT, man and his vehicle left the roadway just west of the former Teresa's Country Cuisine building. The man, who said he "felt sleepy," apparently dozed off only to wake moments later to see that his vehicle was leaving the road and heading directly for a telephone pole. The contact between the 2007 Ford Explorer and the pole snapped off the top of the pole and dropped a live primary power line into the weeds along the road. No removal or clean up could take place until National Grid repaired the lines. Power was out in North Hoosick for some time. The man was uninjured in the crash. The NY State Police, the North Hoosick Fire Department and the Town of Hoosick and Cambridge rescue squads responded to the scene. (Steve Bradley photo)
