Five members of the Town of Hoosick Planning Board were in attendance for the August 18 meeting. They were Chairman Jim Dunigan, Bill Hanselman, Everett Quackenbush and new members Adria Deil and Gary Kjelgaard. Daryl Cipperly and new member Penny Acree were absent. Hoosick Town Supervisor Mark Surdam was on hand to welcome the new members. Kjelgaard said he was glad to be of service to the Town.
[private]Family Subdivision Rules
Bronnie Powers asked the Board that if land was declared a family subdivision could it then be sold as separate lots. She noted that the family subdivision on Johnson Hill Road now has lots for sale. Attorney Denis King and Dunigan said the Board followed the law in granting the family subdivision, which ended the Board’s jurisdiction. “We have no legal authority to do anything more,” said King.
Supervisor Surdam said, “We [the town] are aware of the situation and we are looking into it.”
Trembley Property
Rick Tinkham and Joseph Trembley appeared before the Board again this month requesting the subdivision of seven acres and a house of the Trembley property on Beechwood Road, separating it from the remaining 19 acres. The Board approved the request as a simple subdivision.
Brimmer Farm
When Dunigan recused himself from the Board this month there was, fortunately, a quorum of four to discuss the future of his Brimmer Farm property on Route 22 and County Route 95. Bill Johnston presented the paperwork, and there was much discussion about acreage, wetlands and government regulations for the proposed five lot property with three building lots. The Board reviewed the lengthy Environmental Impact Statement and declared the application complete, with no further information required. No decision was made on the property as Attorney King wants to research the question as to wether it is unlisted or requires Type 1 action.
The matter will be presented to the Board again next month at which time public hearings may be scheduled.
Willson Property
Wayne Willson appeared before the Board on behalf of the estate of the late George and Betty Willson and their property on Route 67. He wanted to move a boundary line, adding 1.1 acres, to give clear use to a shared driveway to George and Darlene Starr. The Board approved the lot line change.[/private]
