Katherine Danforth, of Hoosick Falls has published her first novel, Colour, after successfully completing the NaNoWriMo Challenge.

The National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) Challenge begins each year on the first day of November. For the first stage writers register on line then use the 30 days of November to begin writing an original work of fiction. Writers who successfully log in 50,000 or more words in that period advance to the second stage. This portion of the NaNoWriMo Challenge allows the writer to complete and polish his or her novel until June 30. Writers who do so receive two copy-righted, professionally printed copies of his or her novel. In addition, each successful NaNoWriMo novelist’s book is available for purchase at Amazon.com.
Danforth’s preferred genre is fantasy. Briefly, Colour is a story that tells of “when people start losing their souls and turning into demons, it’s up to an alleged witch named Amaranthea, a wind-reading farmer boy named Baelyn, the sea-smitten Captain Rothas, a distraught father named Kishin and the female assassin known as Char to save the day – or get everybody else killed in the process. Because really, how can you save the day if you have no idea how to save yourself?” Readers can, of course, follow the exploits of Danforth’s vivid characters at Amazon.com or by checking out a copy from the Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls.
When not at work on her next novel, Katherine Danforth attends SUNY Potsdam where she is majoring in Theater.
