Two BCS FCCLA Members Attend Summer Leadership Training

September 12, 2014 By eastwickpress

by Katie Mellett

Two Berlin Central FCCLA members attended Summer Leadership training in Owego, NY, July 28-30.  Haley Hicks, a Junior Leader, and Katie Mellett, a State Officer Elect, and their chaperones, Tammy Osterhout and Advisor Dianne Mosher, attended workshops and work sessions, played games and got a deeper understanding of the FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) program.

The current State I officers announced that this year’s New York State Outreach project would be making stuffed elephants for Maddie’s Mark Foundation. Maddie’s Mark is an organization that does “Best Day Evers” for kids with terminal illnesses. A “Best Day Ever” is something that is unforgettable for these kids no matter how big or small.  The stuffed elephants are one of Maddie’s Mark’s largest fundraisers. We are so lucky to be able to work with Maddie’s Mark.

These are just some of the many events that took place at Summer Leadership. We can’t wait to tell you more from other events in the future.
