October 17, 2014 By eastwickpress

The First Annual Steve Colvin Memorial 5k was held on Saturday, October 11. A hundred and twenty-four runners and walkers of all ages left from Wood Park at 9 am when the temperature was in the low 30s. A wrong turn in the early part of the race caused frustration for the serious time conscious runners, but otherwise, the event was a resounding success. First across the finish line was Tyler Rondeau, second was 12 year old Aiden Scott. First female across the line was Elisha Lyons. In February 21 year old Stephen Colvin died as a result of a skiing accident. A scholarship has been established in his name. The funds generated by the 5k will be used to support that scholarship.
