Spray Paint Spoils Castle Walls

According to Hoosick Falls Police Chief Robert Ashe, the Department received a Criminal Mischief report of spray paint on the Castle walls that enclose the Town Park playground on Wednesday morning, October 22. [private]Chief Ashe said, “The Castle, as it is called by the community, is well known to the residents of both the Town and Village and has been a gathering spot for years for families to enjoy. When residents heard of the damage a reward was established for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible.”

On Thursday, October 23, officers arrested 17 year old Austin Murray of Elm Street, 17 year old Shane Sitterly of Quarry Street and 18 year old Cody Smith of Willow Street and charged them with one count of Criminal Mischief 3rd. They were arraigned and remanded to Rensselaer County Jail. They have since been released and as part of their plea they have agreed to paint the Castle on Thursday and Friday of this week.[/private]
