Hundreds Attend Hoosick Falls Halloween Parade

November 7, 2014 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson

On Thursday evening, October 30, hundreds of people, from toddlers to seniors, gathered in Wood Park for the Town’s annual Halloween Parade. Imaginative costumes abounded and were judged by members of HAYC3 who awarded prizes.

This inter-generational event has been going on for years. Parents, whose own parents decked them out in costumes, now create costumes for their own youngsters, and the grandparents come to see them. The Case family, mom, dad and the kids were all dressed as The Incredibles. There were witches, goblins, space creatures, monsters, princesses, birds, animals of all sorts and much more. There is no limit to the imagination! Folks gather in the Park and then, guided by police cars and fire trucks, walk around the block and return to the Park for the awarding of prizes.

Fortunately the weather was relatively mild and made the evening all the more fun.

HAYC3 judges voted Bradley, a jester, the Scariest. Most Original were snowy owls Olivia and Sophia and Brogan and Ryland, an animal control officer and his catch.

The Funniest was Emmett who was dressed as a piñata.

The Cutest were Alyson and Cole as Red Riding Hood and the Wolf.

Cutest Dog was Cooper owned by the Tinkhams and the Most Original Dog was Bella who belongs to the Watsons.
