Car Hits Pole In Slow Motion

December 19, 2014 By eastwickpress

by Steve Bradley

A young man leaving the Village of Hoosick Falls Tuesday afternoon forgot to keep an eye on where he was going. The driver drifted out of his lane and across the road and came to a quick stop when he ran into a telephone pole on the side of the road. Witnesses estimated that the car was traveling about 20 miles per hour. The pole was broken at the bottom, and the top splintered and was hanging by the wires. The driver said he was tending to something in the driver’s seat and didn’t realize he was drifting. No one was injured. The Hoosick Falls Police, Hoosick Rescue Squad and HF Fire Department responded, along with some volunteers from the Hoosick Fire Department.
