Hoosick – Charles M. (Chuck) Brownell, 84, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY. He was born in West Hoosick, NY, the son of Ethel and Raymond Brownell. From his first marriage to Ruth Tilley, he had two daughters, Lisa Coluccio and Lorie Hassenpflug, both of Hoosick, and a son, Wayne of Florida.
In 1996 Charlie married the former Kay La Flamme. She had four sons, Ed Jr., who died in 1992; surviving are Peter and wife Mary Beth La Flamme of Eagle Bridge, NY, Stanley and wife Arlene La Flamme of NC and Jeff La Flamme of Brattleboro, VT. Charles is also survived by three sisters, Helen Filkins, Gladys Goodermote and Shirley Cottrell, two brothers, Kenneth and Malcolm Brownell, six grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. He is pre-deceased by a brother, Milton.
Charles built several houses in the area, and when he lived on the Hill Road Farm he raised prize winning Hereford cattle. At one time he served on the Hoosick Falls Central School Board, and he was a rural mailman. He loved life and knew everyone as they knew him.
Charles requested no viewing hours or funeral services. Pastor Dale Hall conducted graveside services on Friday, November 28, at 2 pm at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.

Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, New York, 12090. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association or the American Cancer Fund through the funeral home.
