Hoosick Falls Bowling Team Season Preview 2014-2015

December 5, 2014 By eastwickpress

by Coach Bob Lang

The Hoosick Falls bowling team has both experienced and upcoming young bowlers who are ready to defend their Adirondack League title.  There are five starters back from last year’s championship team – Ken Marbot, Senior Co-Captain, Josh McCart Junior Co-Captain, Jennifer Sargood, Junior, Kyla Day, Junior, and A.J. Hurlburt, Freshman.  The bowlers who are ready to bowl at the varsity level are  Senior Eric Bloomer, Senior William Charbonneau, Sophomore Jonathan Bossoni, Sophomore Tyler Lindsey, Sophomore Matthew Bulson, Sophomore Dan Suite and ninth-grader Lilli Williams.

The competition among these bowlers is really close from practice to practice to see who will start the next match.  The depth is what makes the team so strong.  It is our big advantage over most of the teams in the league.  The exhibition bowlers on the team this year are eighth-grader  Christopher Snyder, eighth-grader Meghan Backes, seventh-grader James Hynd and seventh-grader Owynn Arnold.  These bowlers cannot bowl on Varsity or JV but will gain valuable experience being on the team this year, which will help them in years to come.

“The team has been working very hard getting ready for the season to begin.  They know that they must have a good work ethic and take each match one at a time.  Also, they know that they must be very patient during each match especially on away lanes that are much different from our home lanes.  I’m very excited about the prospects of this team this year.  They are a great group of kids that love the game of bowling.  As long as we keep our heads from week to week and keep working hard to improve our game we should have a successful season,” said  Coach Lang.
