Cheney Library Computer Classes

January 9, 2015 By eastwickpress

Starting January 15 at 6:30 pm in the Cheney Library a series of computer classes will begin. These classes have been developed by Sarah McFadden of the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Rensselaer County. The first class will cover Computer Basics, and you will learn the differences between hardware and software as well as the mechanics of email and the web.

If you received a new device for Christmas, bring it along and Sarah will help you set it up. She will also have some computers supplied by the Cornell Cooperative Extension. We will see how the first class goes and then determine where we want to go next. There are classes in Staying Safe Online, Social Media, Microsoft Office and Digital Images.

The Friends of Cheney Library in Hoosick Falls recently purchased a fireplace insert for the Library fireplace. It looks wonderful, and we hope people will come enjoy sitting by the fire. It is a very cozy spot. Photo courtesy of the Cheney Library.

This will be an exciting winter as we learn how to join the computer generation.
