Girl Scouts Collect 500 Pounds Of Food For Local Food Pantries

Girl Scout Service Unit 154, comprising seven local girl scout troops,  worked with community organizations throughout the month of December to collect food for food pantries in Berlin, Grafton, Petersburgh and Stephentown and at the Berlin Elementary School.  Their efforts resulted in 500 pounds of donated food and several generous donations of cash.

[private]Scouts weighed and sorted food, divided by need and delivered grocery boxes to each food pantry last week. Local girl scouts are grateful to the community for its generosity this holiday season and especially thanks the many organization that hosted collection boxes or sponsored collections during monthly member meetings, including Berlin Elementary School, Gardner’s in Stephentown, Grafton Town Hall, Grafton Library, Knuckleheads restaurant in Stephentown, Mountain Chapel Church in Petersburgh, Petersburgh Town Hall, Petersburgh Library, Petersburgh Post Office, Pizza Plus in Stephentown, Stephentown Library, Stephentown Town Hall, Stephentown Trading Post, Stephentown Veterans Association, Stephentown Fire Department and the TRACs Coalition.
