Richard C. Landry

Hoosick Falls – Richard C. Landry, 70, passed away on December 17, 2014, after a long illness.

Born in Hoosick Falls, NY, on April 5, 1944, Richard was the son of the late Harry and Dorothy (Winton) Landry.

He graduated from Troy (NY) High School and was a member of the Class of 1962. Following his graduation, he served his country in the Navy from 1962 until being honorably discharged in 1966; he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

ob-Landrypic_cropRichard was retired from Rensselaer County where he was employed for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, the Center Brunswick Rod and Gun Club and the Taconic Gun Club. He loved the ocean, working on his train set with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting and working in his wood shop.

Richard is survived by his wife, Jane, his children, Kimberly Richburg and her husband Michael of Williston, VT, Kari Larkin and her husband John of South Burlington, VT, Kurt Landry and his wife Heather of Hoosick Falls, his stepchildren, Suzette Somers and her husband Ken of Virginia and Robert Blanchard and his wife Julie of Maryland, his grandchildren, Ryan, Marissa and Max Landry, Kathleen and Jack Richburg, John and Andrew Larkin, his stepgrandchildren, Caroline and Madison Somers, his brothers, Thomas and Charles, and his nieces and nephews, Tom, Susan, Charlie, Sarah and Jennifer.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, December 22, at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Avenue, Troy. Interment followed at 12 pm in the Gerald B.H. Solomon-Saratoga National Cemetery. Friends were invited and also visited at the Church on Sunday from 7 until 9 pm. In lieu of flowers and to remember Dick in a special way, please make a donation to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America, Attn: Honor and Memorial Gifts, P.O. Box 1245, Albert Lea, MN, 56007-9976.

Arrangements are by Parker Brothers Memorial in Watervliet. Visit www.parkerbrosmemorial.com to light a candle and leave a message of sympathy.
