Upcoming Events At Dyken Pond

• Saturday, January 17 – Cross-country Ski Trek, back country nordic skiing on non-groomed trails, 1 to 3 pm. We’ll cover a few miles depending on conditions. Please check conditions by calling the Center. This event is free. The instructor is Lisa Hoyt.

• Sunday, January 18 – Basic Wildlife Tracking with Dan Yacobellis, 10 am to 1:30 pm. Spend a morning being fascinated at how much you can learn about animals by studying their tracks. Pre-registration is required; the cost is $15, $10 for members. This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Dyken Pond.

• Tuesday, February 3 – Full Snow Moon Trek – 7 pm. Enjoy the natural light of the full moon as we cover about two miles of moonlit trail on snowshoes or nordic skis. This program is for the intermediate skier or snowshoer. Youth aged 14 and older are welcome to attend. This event is free. Snowshoe rentals are available for $5. The instructor is Lisa Hoyt.

• Saturday, February 14 – Wildlife Tracking with Alcott Smith – 9 am to 4 pm. Share your love for animals by attending this full day field intensive. Participants will spend the entire day in the woods learning the stories left behind by animal tracks. Always a popular program, please register early as space is limited. Participants need to be in best physical shape. Pre-registration is required. The fee is $30 for the full day, $25 for members. This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Dyken Pond.

• Sunday, February 15 – Wildlife Tracking with Alcott Smith-  9 am to 12 pm or 1 to 4 pm. Same program as Saturday in half the distance and time! Sunday offers a choice of two half day programs. Register for one or both. Each half day will go in different directions. Pre-registration isrequired. The fee is $20 half day; $15 for members. This event is co-sponsored by the Friends of Dyken Pond.
