Fire On Fisk Street

February 12, 2015 By eastwickpress

A February 5, Thursday evening fire on Fisk Street in Hoosick Falls was stopped before it could do extensive damage. The fire, which appeared confined to the area of a chimney, could have been much worse, but a quick response by the Town of Hoosick Fire Departments got the fire under control quickl despite the bitter cold. The unoccupied home had been recently purchased by a new owner. The new owner had workers there to begin to clean up and repair the home. The workers got the chimney working, after making sure the chimney was open, to get heat in the house. Firefighters from North Hoosick, Hoosick and Hoosick Falls responded to the alarm, along with the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad. (Steve Bradley photo)
