Notice To The Residents Of Berlin And Petersburgh

February 6, 2015 By eastwickpress

submitted by Berlin Town Clerk Anne Maxon

It has come to my attention that some users of the Berlin Transfer Station are upset because the attendants are asking to see their Transfer Station permit.

Since the Transfer Station began on May 1, 1994, it has been a requirement to have a permit to use the facility.  The sign at the entrance states this clearly.

[private]Transfer Station attendants are required to verify that users have a permit.  Permits are available from the Berlin and Petersburgh Town Clerks every year.  The permit may be hung on the rear view mirror, placed in a visible place on the vehicle’s dashboard or physically shown to the attendant.  But PLEASE have it with you when you use the Transfer Station.  Use of the facility is for Berlin and Petersburgh residents ONLY and this is the only way to verify residency.

USE OF THE FACILITY WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IF A PERMIT IS NOT PRESENTED!!

Permits are available from the respective clerks during their office hours or you can mail a request for a permit and/or tickets with a self- addressed stamped envelope to:

Berlin – Anne Maxon   518-658-2161

Petersburgh – Deidra Michaels  518-658-3777
