Panthers Wallop Cairo-Durham, 62 – 30

The Panther boys tipped off sectional play against the play-in winner Cairo-Durham Mustangs Tuesday evening. Cairo-Durham defeated Corinth last week to win the right to play the number one seeded HFCS Panthers.

The Panthers got off to a nice start by taking a 12 – 0 lead. By halftime, the Panthers held a 32 – 7 lead and the game was well in hand.

Connor McCart tallied 22 points to lead the way. Andrew Hoag added 11 points.

With the win, the boys will play in quarterfinal action Friday evening, February 27, at Hudson Valley Community College. The game is scheduled to begin at 8 pm. The Panthers will face number eight seeded Schuylerville, who defeated number nine seeded Ichabod Crane, 68 – 63, to advance.
