Bruce Baldwin was on vacation with his wife in New Zealand and Australia when he died suddenly in the morning of March 9 DST. [private]An autopsy will be performed, and then the body will be cremated for the trip back to New Lebanon. It is believed that Baldwin was 73.

Baldwin served as Town Supervisor from January 1988 to December 1995. He had previously served New Lebanon as a Town Board member from January 1986 to December 1987. In 2008 Baldwin again returned to the Board as a Councilman where he served until his death. “And these are but a few of the ways in which Bruce served our community. We will miss him greatly,” said a message posted on the Town’s website by New Lebanon Town Employees and Officials.

The March monthly Board meeting set for Tuesday, including the public hearing on the Charter Franchise Agreement were cancelled by the Town’s representatives “out of respect for Bruce Baldwin and his family.” A new date has not yet been set.[/private]
