Pottery Class At Petersburgh Library

The Petersburgh Public Library will be offering a two-part pottery program for vacationing school children (ages 8 and up) on Monday April 6 and Thursday April 9. Taught by Troy potter and instructor Bianca Dupuis, the program is called “Pinch Pots” and will introduce several methods of hand-building with clay. P-potteryweb[private]At the first session, 3:30 to 5:30 on Monday April 6, participants will learn these methods and will make a small pot or other useful clay piece. On Thursday April 9, again 3:30 to 5:30, the students will receive back their fired pieces and will spend the session learning to glaze their pots. It is necessary to sign up in advance to this program and space is limited. There will be a materials charge of $10 to participate, and participants should PLAN TO ATTEND BOTH CLASSES. Call 658-2927 or stop in at the Library to sign up. Bianca Dupuis is the owner of The Broken Mold Studio at 284 River Street in Troy. She is an experienced and popular pottery instructor, teaching at The Arts Center of the Capital District as well as privately. She is a member of the Collar City Clay Guild and is active in the Empty Bowls Project.

Game Day at the library on Wednesday, April 8 from 2 to 4 pm.  Everyone is invited to bring a board game or play one of those provided and join in an afternoon of fun.  From 4:30 to 6:30 will be Legos at the library.  Build a creation of your imagination with the thousands of Legos at the library.

At 7 pm on April 8 the book discussion group will meet to discuss “The Lowland” by Jhumpa Lahiri.  Copies of the book are available at the library and new members and visitors are always welcome. [/private]
