submitted by Chuck Riccardi and Mark Mazzeo

With generous donations and support from the community the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department held its 17th Annual Corned Beef Dinner this past Saturday, March 6.  [private]When the pagers went off for a rescue call during the dinner, the EMTs and Rescue personnel had to rush off, so all the teen volunteers from TRACS (Together Reducing Alcohol & drugs in our CommunitieS) and the Boy Scouts who had been helping serve, clearing tables, filling drinks, face painting, running for supplies and cleaning, took over to make sure the 300 guests could come back for seconds. TRACS teens included Juliena D’Alessio, Drew Kells, Brianna Royce, Annie Cass, Rachel Cahill, Amanda Despart, Jordan Cahill, Hailey Madsen, Parker Crandall, Hayden Crandall, Henry Ruebel, Nycholas Styer, Lavenia-Watson, Devin Delevan, Destiney Haley Maxon and Rylie Kells and Berlin Adult Facilitator Biffy Cahill. The Boy Scouts helping out were Gavin Bink and Josh Zlotnick.

The Fire Department would like to thank the community and the teens for the great support.

Upcoming events at the Fire Hall include Texas Hold ‘em on March 14 and 28 and the Annual Roast Beef Dinner on Saturday, April 18. Anyone interested in donating homemade pies for the roast beef dinner is encouraged to contact any Department member, call the Fire Station at 733-5151 on Tuesday nights or email Chris at  headley_christopher@yahoo.com.
