Spring is here and so is trout season. County Executive Kathleen Jimino and Legislator Leon Fiacco participated in the annual trout stocking April 1 of creeks in Rensselaer County. The annual stocking is organized by the Rensselaer County Conservation Alliance with support from the state Department of Environmental Conservation. Kathy and Leon helped stock the Mill Creek in East Greenbush off Route 4. Each year the Alliance sponsors various stocking programs for the streams, lakes, and rivers throughout the County. Nearly 2,500 trout were stocked on April 1, 2015. “The Conservation Alliance’s efforts are instrumental in ensuring our sportsmen and women can continue long held traditions like hunting, fishing, and trapping. I commend them for their extensive efforts to help make Rensselaer County a wonderful place to live, work, and raise a family,” said Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen M. Jimino.
