The program includes favorite repertoire, soloists, and artisans from the 20-year history of the Chorale, with works by Brahms, Mozart, Copland, Whitacre, Lauridsen and others, plus music from the Russian, Jewish, South African, and early American traditions.
The music will be wacky, wonderful, funny, ethereal, and sublime — something for everyone!
Chorale soloists Amy Clark, Paul Lambert, Nicholas Lasoff, Katherine McNeice, and Carol Poppe will be joined by invited guest soloists Gene Marie Callahan and Susan Hermance Fedak and accompanist Erich Borden. There will also be a collaborative Featured Artisan sale by Battenkill Chorale artisans Dona Ann McAdams, Bliss McIntosh, Annie and Virginia McNeice, Heide Merecki, Hannie Varosy, and Evan Wilson, with 50% of the proceeds donated to the Chorale.
The Battenkill Chorale, a 100-voice unauditioned chorus from six counties in New York and Vermont founded twenty years ago by Artistic Director Janet McGhee, has matured into what is now recognized as one of the premier amateur choruses in the North Country and Capitol Regions. [/private]
