After a long, cold winter, the Hoosick Falls Country Club has re-opened. On July 16, 2014, there was a kitchen fire that put the kitchen in the clubhouse out of commission and also resulted in damage in the dining area. The Country Club shut down entirely in late October. Since that time the Club worked with the insurance company to determine the cost to repair the kitchen and dining areas, and finally came to an agreeable amount at the end of January.
Member’s Reception

The Country Club hosted a well-attended Member’s Reception on Tuesday, April 14, and the next day the restaurant re-opened to the public and will continue its regular restaurant hours: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 4:30 to 9 pm and Friday and Saturday from 4:30 to 9:30 pm.
At the Member’s Reception the Board thanked its members for their past and ongoing support, and especially their patience throughout the shutdown and rebuilding time period. Special thanks was given to Rick Kobik, Bob Puntch and Dave Powers who volunteered their time and expertise in the construction field. The Board also thanked the Hoosick Federal Credit Union for working with the Club during the shutdown period; without their flexibility and understanding, this project would not have been possible.
The former Village building inspector, Ed King, was instrumental in helping to understand and follow code requirements, and later in the project, the new building inspector Mark Surdam was also helpful. All contractors involved did a great job and worked with an extremely tight deadline, beginning in the first week of February and working quickly so that we could reopen in time for golf season: Ron Colvin, Joe Conway, Bradley Electric (Scott Stroffoleno), Conway Plumbing & Heating (JP Conway and Charlie Nealon), and MCS Cleaning.
And last, but not least, Jeff Babson helped manage the contractors through the project to help get the club back together again. Jeff is excited to introduce new items, while also keeping some of the house favorites that have been greatly missed during the shutdown period. Jeff designed the new kitchen, so he is excited to get back to work as the Chef at the Hoosick Falls Country Club.
