Meeting Date Changes
The Village Board meeting in July will be changed from July 14 to July 21. The meeting for September will be changed from September 8 to September 15.
Organization Meeting
Mayor David Borge, Trustees Ric DiDonato, Kevin O’Malley, Robert Ryan, Karen Sprague and Acting Justice Harold McClellan were all sworn in at the start of the Hoosick Falls Organization Meeting held at 6 pm on Tuesday, April 14. The Mayor appointed DiDonato as Deputy Mayor.

The Village Nuisance Law Appeal Board is made up of one member from Planning, Zoning and one Village resident. Members of the Workplace Violence Committee are Margaret Casey, Mark Surdam and Crystal Quell.
Members of the Ethics Committee are Maggie Kinney, Bernie Davock and Matt Monahan.
Official Bank for the Village is Key Bank, official newspaper is the Eastwick Press.
This year’s budget included a two percent salary increase for Village employees. Those salaries are:
Treasurer-$39,976.86, Clerk-$28,652.82, Deputy Clerk-$20,693.76, Building Inspector-$34,580, Maintenance-$16.33/hour, Highway Superintendent-$50,895.96, Water Plant Operator-$38,639.64, Water Plant Assistant-$35,147.16, Waste Water Plant Operator-$38,639.64, Waste Water Plant Assistant-$35,147.16, Justice-$10,853.82, Acting Justice-$6,179.16, Court Clerk-$13,467.06, Assessor-$6,686.10, Police Chief-$49,706.64, Mayor-$11,000, Deputy Mayor-$5,000, Trustees-$4,000, Election Inspector-$80.
All salaried personnel receive no overtime and may be called to work at any time by the Chairman of the Committee or by the Mayor or Deputy Mayor. Salaried personnel are on call seven days a week and are required to work regular hours pertaining to the workweek of the Village.
Salaries for the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Trustees have been unchanged for many years.
During the regular meeting the Board approved an agreement between the Village and Village Attorney John R. Patterson from April 2015 to March 2016 in the amount of $518.50 per month.
In other business:
• The Board received a check in the amount of $1,194 for the purchase of historical signs for Wood Park from the Veteran’s Memorial Wall fund.
• A draft of the new Zoning regulations has been sent to the advisory committee and is available online.
• A motion was approved to advertise for bids to demolish the old waterworks building.
• Deputy Mayor Ric DiDonato and Trustee Ben Patten encouraged everyone to be part of the Hoosick Rising meetings. Hoosick Rising is working toward the betterment of the Town and Village. The next meeting will be Wednesday, June 3, at Brown’s Brewery.
• Trustee Robert Downing noted that the Transfer Station does not accept paint of any kind. Paint must be brought to the ERC Warehouse in Melrose.
• A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on the Greenway at the former Skorupski property on Friday, June 12 at 4 pm.
•Mayor Borge said he is very pleased with the renovations to the Municipal Building. He expressed his appreciation to Jerry McAuliffe and Niel Stowell and their crews for the significant improvements to the building. An Open House will be held on Saturday, May 2 during the Village Cleanup Day, for the community to tour the building.[/private]
