The Berlin Free Town Library is pleased to present a showing of recent works by local artist Gregory Winterhalter from May 29 through June 25.
A visual-artist/educator, Winterhalter moved to southern Vermont in the late 1960s and is currently a resident of Whitecreek, NY. He has been a faculty member in the Humanities Department at Southern Vermont College since 1980 where he teaches studio art and lecture courses in the arts. He holds a BFA in Painting from Boston University as well as an MFA in Painting from the Pratt Institute School of Graduate Art. An exhibitor for over 40 years, Winterhalter’s disciplines include water color, oils, tempera, acrylic polymer, wax encaustic, handmade paper works, printmaking, ceramics and ceramic sculpture. His works are in permanent and private collections in the United States, including Sloan Kettering Institute, Cornell University, Pratt Institute and Skowhegan School of Art.
The Library invites you to a “Meet the Artist” reception on Thursday evening, June 4 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served.
