Irene Hanna was appointed at the monthly New Lebanon Town Board meeting, Tuesday May 12, to fulfill the remainder of Councilman Bruce Baldwin’s term.
Baldwin passed away March 9 while vacationing with his wife in Australia. Hanna will serve out the rest of the year. All voted in favor of the appointment with the exception of Town Supervisor Mike Benson, who abstained. Hanna, a longtime resident of the Town, was a close contender in the November 2013 election for a seat on the Town Board, losing to Chuck Geraldi by less than 20 votes.
