Alice C. Jones

West Lebanon – Alice Cole Jones, 82, passed away on Monday, June 15 at home, with her family at her side.

[private] Alice was born in New York City, January 8, 1933, the daughter of the late Katherine and Henry Cole. She attended schools in New York and Connecticut. She also graduated from Bennett Junior College.  She was employed at the Berkshire Farm Center, Canaan, NY, for a number of years.

Alice was a member of the Church of Our Savior in Lebanon Springs, the Lenox Club, the Old Chatham Hunt Club, and the Kinderhook Garden Club. She enjoyed playing tennis and golf, traveling, gardening, entertaining, and caring for her cat.

She married her husband, Robert W. Jones, Sr., on October 12, 1968.

She was the stepmother of Eunice J. (John) Young of Timonium, MD, Barbara A. Graham of San Jose , CA, Donna J. (Michael) Gillen of Magnolia, MA, Karen E. (Thomas) Coleman of Falcon, CO, and Herbert F. (Darlene) Jones of Brainard, NY; 24 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bob, in November 2014, a stepdaughter, Patricia E. (Jeffrey) Gardner of Feura Bush, NY, in November 2014, and a stepson, Robert W. Jones, Jr. in September 1974.

She is survived by one brother, Dr. Henry P. Cole, Jr., of Fairbanks, AK.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, June 20 at 1 pm at the Church of Our Savior, in Lebanon Springs, NY, with Reverend Canon Clinton Dugger officiating.  Calling hours were held before the service and a reception followed.  Burial of cremains will be in a family lot in Lawrence Brook Cemetery in South Royalston, MA.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Community Hospice of Columbia/Greene, 47 Liberty Street, Catskill, NY 12414, Berkshire Humane Society, 214 Barker Road, Pittsfield, MA 01201, Cystic Fibrosis, 423a New Karner Road, Suite 3, Albany, NY 12205, or the Alzheimer’s Association, 4 Pine West Plaza, Suite 405, Albany, NY 12205.
