Cooking Classes Highlight HAYC3’s Menu of Summer Offerings

Summer is almost here and we have the perfect summertime cooking classes.

The Hoosick Kitchen at the HAYC3 Armory is offering both adult and Young Chef’s cooking classes. Taught by local Chef Kelly O’Connor, these hands-on classes will be held in The Hoosick Kitchen located downstairs in the HAYC3 Armory at 80 Church Street.

[private] June’s Young Chef’s Cooking Class is “All About Cupcakes” and is  the perfect introduction to the fundamentals of cupcake making and will be held on Saturday, June 20. July’s class will be “Pie Making 101, Jr.” and will take place on Saturday, July 11. On Saturday, August 8, kids can join “Ice Cream, You Scream” and will have fun creating homemade ice cream.  Designed for ages 8 to 12, the class covers basic cooking skills and fundamentals. Cost for the classes is $10 and limited to ten participants. Classes run from 11 am to 12:30 pm. The cost includes all supplies and young participants will take home a sample of their creation.

For adults, “Ice Cream, You Scream” will explore how to make gourmet ice cream and will take place on Thursday, July 16.

In August, come learn “Cake Decorating for Beginner’s.” This class is scheduled for Thursday, August 20. Cooks will prepare, taste test and take home samples.

Cost for the adult class is $15 and includes all supplies. Classes start at 6:30 pm.
