Reynolds Foundation Gives Grants

June 18, 2015 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson

On Thursday evening, June 11, the members of the Board of Directors of the Reynolds Foundation, which includes Robert Becker, Norma Brenenstuhl, James Monahan, Armand Rousseau and William Shiland, presented funds to 10 community groups on behalf of the Foundation. [private] Norma noted that they have been informed by the bank monitoring the Fund that it has cut in half the $10,000 amount that was distributed last year, and will continue with the lower amount for the next few years in order to allow the fund to increase.

Grateful recipients were Bill Gaillard for the Town of Hoosick Community Band, Phil Leonard for the Town of Hoosick Historical Society, Dianne Hosterman for the Hoosick Area Church Association Food Pantry, Gail Smith for the Voice of a Vet LLC, Anna Brewer for the Hoosick Falls Girl Scouts Service Program, Marion Stevens for the Hoosick Falls Girl Scouts Day Camp Program, Carol Gaillard for the Cheney Library Children’s Reading Program, Eleanor Calhoun on behalf of Wood Park residents, Janet Bugbee and Nancy Duket for the Wood Bridge Residents and Peg Bakaitis for the Fourth Ward Playground.

Speaking on behalf of the Board, Bill Shiland thanked each organization for “what you do and for making Hoosick and Hoosick Falls a better place.”

Edith Craig Reynolds, widow of Marcus T. Reynolds, was a generous supporter of many Hoosick projects over the years, including contributions to the Rescue Squad, funds for the Little League Memorial Park, for a fire truck and for the building of the Community Pool.
