Contractor John Cooney and property owner Robert Koronas appeared before the Town of Hoosick Planning Board on Monday, June 15 to discuss putting storage units on his property behind the apartment building on Route 7 near the Vermont line. [private] Between the landscaping and a steep bank the units will be barely visible from Route 7. There will be minimal outside lighting required and a parking lot is already in place. The area is perfectly flat and no water or septic will be required.
Since the Town already has two storage unit operations in it, Koronas was asked if there was a need for a third. He responded that he has already had several requests to rent the units.
Planning Board attorney Denis King told the Board all that was needed was a site plan review. The Board then went through the review, pointing out items that would need clarification and items that could be waived. Cooney and Koronas will appear next month with a detailed plan and identified boundary lines.
Schoolhouse Move
Connie Teal appeared before the Board regarding a boundary line adjustment for property on Eddy Road and County Route 103. She has a former schoolhouse located on a half acre piece of property and she wants to move it so that it sits on a one acre piece. It has existing water and septic. Since this is all taking place on her property, there was no need for her to come to the Board. However, should she ever choose to sell the building and the acre, it is beneficial to her to have it in the Board’s minutes that it approved the boundary line adjustment, which it did. [/private]
