The Petersburgh Public Library invites everyone to read this summer, books, electronic books, audio books, they all count as books. From young children to adults everyone is invited to join the fun. Each child and young adult who signs up will receive a free book to take home and keep, and a bag to carry their books back and forth to the library. If they complete the reading requirements there will be a celebration with prizes on August 12.
[private]Adults who sign up will receive the bag and the opportunity to make an entry to win prizes on August 12. All entries must be received by August 10. For each book read, adults may put an entry into a can to win a gift certificate to the Bennington Bookstore, Papa’s Pizza, or golf at Donnybrook Country Club. Other prizes include homemade bread, a manicure, an LLBean basket, Yankee candles, a photography basket, New York wines, and a yarn basket worth $75. All prizes have been generously donated by the library Board, volunteers and patrons. So start reading and enter to win a prize.
The programs continue at the library with story hour held every Tuesday morning at 11 through August 11. On Tuesday, July 21 the theme will be “The Heroes in Story Books” and July 28, “Heroes Make Us Feel Better.” The drop-in crafts are held Wednesday afternoons between 2 and 4 and on July 22 we will be making Superhero Juggling Balls and on July 29 it will be “Search for a Superhero”.
