Stephentown Library News

July 16, 2015 By eastwickpress

The annual Stephentown Library Book Festival will be held Saturday, July 18 from 9 am to 3 pm. The event will happen rain or shine; most books are inside.

In addition to our usual splendid assortment of books, DVDs, [private]audiobooks, and children’s items (all bargain priced),  baked goods, and veggie burgers, hotdogs and hamburgers, this year we are inviting community groups, craftspeople and other vendors to join in the fun.  If you, or your community group, would like to have a table at the Festival, at no cost, please contact the library for more details.   Local businesses are invited to donate to our gift certificate raffle and to promote their goods/services.

Books are priced at 50 cents for children’s books and paperbacks, $1 for hardbound books, DVDs, and audiobooks. Book Donations are welcome and will be accepted during library hours, prior to the day of the sale.

There will be a “Rhonda’s Reptiles” show at 11 am and music with Rosie all day.

Early birds are welcome at 8 am for an entry fee of $20.

Free Daily Breakfast and Lunch for Kids

We are pleased to have been chosen as an open feeding site through this federally-funded program. We will be serving a healthy breakfast each weekday from 8:30 to 9:30 am and lunch each weekday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm in the community room. There is no charge and no income or residency requirement.  No preregistration is required.  All children under age 18 are encouraged to take advantage of this program.  Children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The program runs from July 6 until August 31, Monday through Friday.

Dazzle Dogs Show – Monday, July 20 at 10 am – Dazzle Dogs is a remarkably unique, talented and “dazzling” group of dogs that includes corgis, retrievers and an Australian shepherd.  These charming canines will delight the audience as they dance, fly over and through agility obstacles and perform stunts.  This show will take place under the tent behind the library.
