Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department Hosts Water Polo

July 30, 2015 By eastwickpress

The Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting water polo competition on Saturday August 1, starting at 5 pm at our Muster Field, Grange Hall Road, next to the Town Garage.

[private]There will be kids division as well as an adult division.  This year we are inviting the entire community as spectators, and the kitchen will be open.

Kids competition is informal.  Youth groups can be formed from any group of three children.  Three friends can form a team, or Scouts or any other youth group.

Adult groups are firefighters from local departments.  First prize will be $100 for the winning fire department.

The competition involves using a fire hose stream to move a ball suspended on a horizontal wire into the end zone.  Two teams are spraying from opposite directions.  We supply youngsters with fire coats, helmets and boots.  And yes, bring dry clothes and towels for the kids.  It’s an excellent exercise in teamwork.

Come cheer our local kids, buy a burger, and network with our firefighters.  One might consider local departments provide the greatest quality of life asset in the valley.  Get to know us; join us.  And yes, we dial down the pressure for kids.  We haven’t launched any yet.

For questions or to enter a team, please phone Bryan at 518-365-6465.[/private]
