Vivian Rosamund Smith

Hoosick Falls -Vivian Rosemond Smith, 79, of Hoosick Falls, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Bennington Health & Rehabilitation Center. 

[private]Born May 7, 1936 in Albany, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert William and Leone Maude (Kelly) Smith. She was raised in Hoosick Falls by her loving aunts and her grandfather, William Kelly and attended Hoosick Falls High School.

Vivian worked for Albany Felt Company in Hoosick Falls and then from 1969 until 1976 she was a nurse’s aide at the Champlain Valley Physicians Medical Center in Plattsburgh. Vivian then returned to Hoosick Falls and went back to work at Albany Felt until she retired in 1991.

She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Hoosick Falls and was a past member of the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad and also the Republican Party Committee in Hoosick Falls.

Vivian will be missed by her grandsons whom she enjoyed spending time with.

In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her three sisters and a brother, Patty, Roberta, Peggy Ann and William. Vivian is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Steven Landry of Hoosick Falls; grandsons, Joshua and Lucas and many nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at  the Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls at a later date, to be announced,
