Edward DeSacia, Jr.

Bennington, VT – Edward DeSacia, Jr., 91, passed away on July 29, 2015 at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington. Born on June 29, 1924 in Scotia, New York, he was the son of the late Edward DeSacia, Sr. and Florence Sales.

[private]Ed was employed at the Wood Flong plant in Hoosick Falls for many years. He retired from the Energizer Company in Bennington, Vermont. He enjoyed working in the garden, especially with flowers and had a knack for being able to grow almost anything with amazing results.

In addition to his parents, he is also predeceased by his wife Anna Rose (McGuire) DeSacia, who passed away on August 22, 1997; his sisters, Florence Perkins and Betty Hyatt; and a grandson, Eamon DeSacia. He is survived by his sons, James (Nuala) DeSacia of Guilderland, NY, Donald (Debra) DeSacia of Cambridge, NY, daughters Susan McGrew of Schenectady, NY and Nancy DeSacia of Lakeland, Fl. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family would like to honor Ed’s final wishes, therefore there will be no calling hours or burial service. He will be interred at the family’s plot in Scotia, NY. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Center for Living and Rehabilitation for the wonderful care they provided for Ed in his final years.[/private]
