Ethel M. Harrington

Hoosick – Ethel M. Harrington, 88, passed away on Monday August 3, 2015 at the Centers for Living and Rehabilitation in Bennington, Vermont. She resided on Rt 7 in Hoosick. Ethel was the wife of the late Albert Harrington.

[private]Ethel was born on March 31, 1927 in Hoosick Falls, NY, daughter of the late Sanford and Agnes (Jones) Hewitt. She was educated at schools in Hoosick Falls and was a Homemaker all of her life, always helping on the family farm when needed. She enjoyed traveling and camping with her family, and knitting.

Survivors include her sons Gerald (Kim) Harrington and Kevin Harrington, both of Hoosick Falls, three sisters Iva Durkee and Gwendolyn White, both of Hoosick Falls, and Dora Ayers, grandchildren Heather Harrington and Ericka Harrington Kaufman, and four great-grandchildren. Ethel is predeceased by two sisters Bertha Hubbard and Pearl Haskell.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, New York. Memorial contributions may be made to the Karen and Molly McGovern Memorial Fund through the funeral home.[/private]
