Gil Payette is a master storyteller of Native American stories and folklore and will share a few stories with us. All ages are invited to join us in the amphitheater at 1:30 pm.

[private]Junior Naturalist Series: Tuesday from 1 pm to 2:30 pm

August 18: Natural History of Humans

Travel back in time and learn how early pioneers survived off of our land in wild scenarios.  Jr. Naturalists will learn the importance of our botanical world and the many diverse uses of all things green.  Naturalists will be given certain clues and natural tools to overcome make-believe circumstances in the wild.

Monarch Butterflies Emerging

Currently at the Center we are rearing Monarch butterflies as a part of a past Junior Naturalist Program. The butterflies will be emerging from the chrysalises starting on or around August 3 and will continue for a few weeks. Bring your little ones out to catch sight of these marvelous insects before they are all gone.

The Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center is located at 475 Dyken Pond Rd, Cropseyville, NY 12052. Call for more information: 518-658-2055, or visit www.dykenpond.org.[/private]
