Hoosick Falls Community Comes Together To Support Officer Nick Colaneri

Troy Event Scheduled For September 12

submitted by Scott McCart

On Saturday August 15, a Spaghetti dinner was hosted by Connor McCart and Lizza Ryan at the Hoosick Falls Fire House for a special community member Nick Colaneri.

[private]The outpouring of support for Nick was heartwarming. Many community members came out to volunteer for this event and many more savored a delicious meal cooked by the Decchille family.

Live entertainment was provided by the Brewster family. They really rocked out for this great cause.  Many young children had the opportunity to write on Nick’s police car, delivering healing messages of encouragement for him.

The event raised over $8,330 for Nick’s medical expenses. It couldn’t have been done without the support from all who helped.  It was a wonderful evening that so many enjoyed, and the best part was getting to help Nick out.

Another wonderful event has been scheduled for Nick on September 12 from 1 pm to 8 pm. A Block Party located in front of the River Street Pub in Troy, NY will include a pig roast, dunk-a-cop, bands, raffles and a silent auction will be some of the activities planned.  Tickets at the door are $25 and kids 12 and under are free for this family friendly event with paying adult.  All proceeds will help to fund the costs of Nick’s fight.[private]
